Day Habilitation consists of a person-centered program that helps individuals gain skills needed to become active and participating members in their own communities. Each participant is continually monitored to develop goals that suit the individual’s needs. Participants in the Day Habilitation Program work on targeted goals and behaviors such as adaptive living, communication, food preparation, related pre-vocational/vocational skills, and the reduction and/or elimination of maladaptive behaviors. The program is open to individuals 21 years of age or over who are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The program operates Monday through Friday, year round, primarily between the hours of 9:00AM to 3:00PM. A few examples of Day Habilitation Services are:
Facility Based Activities:
- Cooking, meal preparation, food safety
- Health and fitness
- Personal Hygiene
- Shopping, book clubs, and library
- Parks, picnics, sports and fitness events
