Assistive Technology Services means a service that directly assists a participant in the selection, acquisition or use of an assistive technology device. It includes but is not limited to the evaluation of Assistive Technology/ Assistive Augmentative Communication (AT/AAC) needs, acquisition of needed equipment, customization of equipment programming, ongoing maintenance and evaluation of programming as well as training and technical assistance for residential/employment/day staff and family members. A few examples of Assistive Technology Activities are:
- Evaluation of AT or environmental modification needs
- Purchasing, leasing, acquiring AT devices
- Designing, fitting, customizing devices
- Repairs and ongoing maintenance
