Beach days, barbecues, boardwalks and plain old-fashioned fun are what summer is all about. With events like trips to the beach or trail hikes in local parks, our adults have had a season of summer days filled with classic summer fun.
Long before the first signs of spring began to appear, Eden’s Adult Services team got to work putting plans into place to make the summer of 2016 one to remember for our adult participants. From Armstrong House to Winsten House and back to our day centers, we have celebrated and embraced the summer spirit with a nonstop schedule of activities including day trips for our adults in our day centers and exciting activity calendars for our group homes and supported apartments.
Eden staff members found the best ways for our adults to have fun and beat the heat this summer with trips to New Jersey’s beautiful beaches, endless afternoons spent in swimming pools, thrills at amusement parks, bike rides and delicious barbecues. When those “dog days of summer” rolled around and it was simply too hot to venture out under the sizzling summer sun, staff members got creative and found cooler activities that would allow for activities and enjoyment out in the community. Our adults stayed cool with favorite activities that included, bowling, going to the movies, visiting the Camden Aquarium, picnics that took place under shade trees at the Grounds for Sculpture and trail walks in local parks.
What a summer it has been. As it begins to wind down and we come upon Labor Day, we are already looking forward and planning for fall activities.
