Eden Autism Hosts Advocacy Day at State House

StateHouse SM1

Eden Autism parents, participants, and staff met with legislators at the New Jersey State House to advocate for a 3% COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) to support programs and services for individuals with disabilities in the FY2027 state budget.

This 3% investment protects the stability, safety, and dignity of the individuals we support. Services and supports face the same inflation and cost pressures every family does, along with all the costs and compliance associated with running a business. A COLA helps providers offer competitive wages, recruit and retain qualified and experienced staff to maintain the health and safety of individuals.

We are grateful to all of the legislators who spoke with us to learn more about our organization, the people we support, and why a COLA is vital to continue providing necessary services and supports across the state. We would also like to thank Senator Andrew Zwicker (not pictured) for stopping to talk with us in between meetings and for his continued support.

There is still time to contact your legislator and ask them to support a 3% COLA in the FY2027 budget! Visit njacp.org/take-action to learn more.
