Eden Autism recently celebrated the dedicated direct support professionals and community job coaches during DSP Appreciation Week, which was held September 12 to September 18.
The job titles of direct support professionals and community job coaches do not adequately express all that they do — they’re teachers, caregivers, and friends for all of the individuals in Eden’s adult services program. From helping individuals with autism learn daily living skills to advocating on their behalf at doctor’s appointments, DSPs provide invaluable support to participants and their families.
While we continue to face some challenges surrounding the ongoing pandemic, we are gaining momentum with returning to a new sense of normalcy at each of our locations — our day centers and residential group homes/apartments. This would not have been possible without our colleagues’ continued support and dedication to our participants in all aspects of their lives.
In honor of DSP Week, Eden hosted several luncheons and offered give-a-ways to thank DSPs and CJCs for the work they do each and every day on behalf of adults with autism. This week, and every week, we are grateful for their tireless commitment to help improve the lives of individuals with autism.
