Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental disability that impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. The result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, autism typically appears during a child’s first three years. People with autism have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities. Although neither its cause(s) nor a cure are known at present, autism is treatable. Through education and training programs, such as those offered by Eden, people with autism can learn to live and work as productive members of their communities, and lead fulfilling and independent lives to the full extent of their abilities.

Eden currently provides early intervention, educational, residential, and employment services to more than 200 individuals ranging in age from 12 months to 72 years old.
