Annual Golf Outing “On Par” with Raising Funds for Eden

The 29th annual Wall Street Friends of Eden Invitational Golf Outing, Eden’s spring fundraiser, once again took place this month with 80 golfers taking on one of the area’s most challenging and breathtaking courses. The event, sponsored by UBS and held at the Fairmount Country Club in Chatham, New Jersey raised over $80,000 for Eden’s programs and brought together golfers from as close as Berkeley Heights to as far away as Brazil.

The history of this annual event dates back to 1989 when the late Frank Basile, Eden parent and successful Wall Street broker, formed this charity golf event with a group of colleagues. Mr. Basile’s vision was to create an annual fundraiser to help support Eden and his son Frankie, who now an adult, has been with Eden since he was five years old.

The unseasonably cool weather for this year’s event did not stop these die-hard golfers from taking part in a full day of golf. With the traditional golf challenges which included the Million Dollar Shot, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Straightest Drive and $10,000 Putt, it was a day of fun for all those who took on the course. When they finished up with their final shots, the golfers enjoyed cocktails, dinner, an awards ceremony and a raffle that featured high-end prizes. Two of Eden’s own adult participants were on hand to draw the winning raffle tickets for prizes which included a weekend getaway to the Woodstock Inn, Sonos Play 3, golf clubs and a Victorinox Swiss Army watch.

We thank our presenting sponsor UBS and our additional sponsors CLSA, Goldman Sachs, Itaú BBA, and Liquidnet. We also would like to recognize all the Eden parents who came out to volunteer at the event as well as our friends from Novartis of East Hanover and our corporate neighbor, Sandoz.
