More than 450 people attended the 2019 Eden Autism Service Awards to celebrate the cornerstone of Eden’s mission — our participants and staff.
Thirty-one staff members and twenty-seven participants were honored during the November 22 awards, held at The Westin at Forrestal Village. Individuals were honored for hitting a milestone within the organization, ranging from 5 to 35 years.
Eden’s oldest participant, John, received a standing ovation for his remarkable 35 years of service. Staff remarked that no matter what John is doing, he always has a smile on his face. Our participants weren’t the only ones celebrate big milestones. Jeffrey Hoschek, Eden’s maintenance technician, was honored for 25 years of service and leadership within the organization.
Three staff members were also honored for their dedication to the children and adults we serve. Senior teaching assistant Megan Criscio, community job coach Shabazz Kelly, and residential supervisor William Owens III received the Kristin Ann Culley Award for Faculty Excellence.
The goal of the Service Awards is to honor the staff and participants who are at the very heart of our mission to improve the lives of people with autism one individual at a time, one family at a time, one community at a time. The Service Awards committee would like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of these incredible individuals, as well as the staff and participant honorees who make working at Eden a remarkable experience.
