Eden Autism Services is proud to announce that Brandon Scott is this year’s recipient of the NJACP DSP Hero Award.
Brandon began his Eden career four years ago as a Direct Support Professional, and he was recently promoted to Community Job Coach. From never hesitating to care for individuals in our Adult Services program who were recovering from COVID-19 to advocating for individuals while out in the workforce, Brandon exemplifies our core values every day.
As we moved forward from the pandemic, the individuals in our adult program went back out into the workforce. While some had difficulty adapting to schedule changes, Brandon and the individuals he works with quickly fell back into a steady routine.
Brandon is also a strong advocate for those he supports. They work in a warehouse environment, which can get warm in the summer. Brandon was able to get them personal fans and cooling rags to keep them comfortable and safe on the job. Due to their diagnosis of autism, these individuals cannot speak for themselves; they rely on others like Brandon to keep them safe and help them accomplish their goals.
While we continue to face some setbacks associated with COVID-19, it is comforting to know that we have a staff like Brandon who is willing to go above and beyond for men and women with autism. We are proud of Brandon and all that he has accomplished at Eden. Congratulations Brandon!
