Behavior Analyst Matt Frey did not set out to have Behavior Analyst Matt Frey did not set out to have a career working with autistic adults. He joined Eden in 2013 as a Direct Support Professional, with no prior experience working with Eden’s population.

As he got to know the Adult Services participants, he knew he had found his calling. “When I first came in, it was a job, but over time it became less of a job and more of a purpose,” he said.

Eden Autism’s research has gone international! Dir Eden Autism’s research has gone international! Director of Clinical Services Lisa Toole was Chair of a symposium at the 12th annual international conference of the Association for Behavior Analysis, International in Lisbon, Portugal. 

The symposium was a great opportunity to share research with Behavior Analysts from across the world and share Eden’s mission on an international scale. “It’s great to get our name out there and let other people know that here in New Jersey we are doing good work,” said Lisa. 

The symposium was focused on refinements to functional analysis methodology and practice. “I was really proud of the theme of our symposium,” said Lisa. “It’s important to further our understanding of how to treat severe behavior. We want to continue to refine methods and make the assessment and treatment process safer and more inclusive.”

Eden Autism Adult Services Staff recently hosted a Eden Autism Adult Services Staff recently hosted a food drive in support of Arm In Arm. Three bins of food were donated just before the Thanksgiving holiday. 

“It means a lot because we see a lot more families coming to our pantries for food as well as a lot of organizations asking us to donate food to them for their community,” said Shariq Marshall, Arm In Arm Development and Community Engagement Coordinator. “It takes a lot to sustain. It takes help from communication partners like Eden Autism.”
