Eden School celebrates the Class of 2021

On the morning of June 24, Eden teachers, staff, and families came together to celebrate the remarkable Eden School Class of 2021.

Liam receives his diploma from Cindy Bott-Tomarchio, Director of Educational Services, during the Eden School graduation ceremony.

This year’s outdoor commencement ceremony honored Eden’s graduating senior, Liam, and the 11 students who are graduating into another classroom within the school.

“All of the Eden School staff are proud to stand in partnership with the families of our graduating students as they reach this new milestone,” said Cindy Bott-Tomarchio, Director of Educational Services. “While this past year has been challenging, it has also taught us the meaning of strength and resilience. Congratulations Eden School Class of 2021 on all of your amazing accomplishments!”

Liam has been at Eden since 2014, and he’s now joining the adult services program. Liam’s story is a triumphant one. Whether he was in the classroom or learning remotely, Liam continued to find success within his programs.

“He did great working virtually, and we’re so proud that he adjusted so well when he came back,” said Lead Teacher Ken Dorfman. “For being home for so long, he didn’t miss a beat and was so happy to come back.”

While this year’s commencement ceremony celebrated the students’ next steps, it also recognized all the hard work and dedication that helped them through this past year. Parents, siblings, family members, teachers, and staff created an exceptional support system that allowed the students to flourish and continue to reach milestones within their program.

“As we look back on today as a journey — a journey that started out with hesitant and tentative steps — we see just how far these young ladies and gentlemen have progressed,” said Rachel Tait, Chief Program Officer. “It has been an honor and privilege being part of their journey, one which has been decorated with wonderful memories, and a little bit of crazy, especially with this year we just made it through.”

Congratulations to Liam and all the students who graduated into the next classroom!
