Eden Autism Virtual 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk raises over $162,000

Our annual 5K & Fun Run/Walk may have looked a little different this year, but the event continued to make a big difference in the lives of children and adults with autism.

Over 500 runners and walkers came together from afar to raise over $162,000 during Eden Autism’s first-ever all virtual 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk.

“I am truly blown away by the support from our sponsors, donors and participants,” said Eden parent and 5K Committee Chair Brian McHale. “When we decided to move the event to an all virtual race, we knew we were doing the right thing. At the same time, we were concerned about how our stakeholders would respond to this significant change to the 5K. The response from everyone was incredible.”

From teams exceeding their fundraising goal to people participating thousands of miles away from Princeton, the response from the Eden community during this challenging time has been truly inspiring.

Berkowsky & Associates, Inc. exceeded their goal of raising $30,000 for Eden, and the company will match the donations in honor of their 30th anniversary — giving another $30,000 to Eden Autism!

In addition, the Brielle’s Voice (Kumo) Team, led by Eden parents Stacie and Dave Sherman, raised a remarkable $21,000 for Eden.

We are also deeply thankful for all the individuals who ran or walked in their local parks or around their neighborhoods to support our programs. Runners and walkers from 15 different states and 6 countries participated in this year’s race, making this one of the most geographically diverse races in the history of the event.

Our 5K has always been more than just a race. As our largest fundraiser, the event is a celebration of our mission to improve the lives of individuals with autism across the lifespan. We may not have been able to celebrate together this year, but that didn’t stop our amazing community from continuing to support our participants and families throughout this extraordinary time. For that, we are truly grateful.

We are close to our hitting our fundraising goal of $175,000! Click here to donate to a team or share the link with friends and family.
