Eden Autism 5K & Fun Run/Walk raises over $175,000

Runners and walkers from across the country raised over $175,000 for Eden Autism during the 2021 Eden Autism 5K & Fun Run/Walk!

Over 600 runners and walkers participated in this year’s races. Two races, a 5K and Fun Run/Walk, were held at the Eden School on October 3, and a virtual race was held throughout October. Runners from 10 different states participated in this year’s fundraiser, running to support Eden from as far away as California.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of all of our runners, walkers, donors, sponsors, and volunteers,” said Brian McHale, Chair of the 5K Committee. “In particular, I wanted to thank our Elite Sponsors, Firmenich and Berkowsky & Associates, for their sponsorship and for all of their additional efforts, including fundraising.”

Berkowsky & Associates, Inc. was this year’s biggest team, and they exceeded their goal and raised over $40,000 for Eden!

In addition, the Brielle’s Voice and Kumo Virtual Team, led by Eden parents Stacie and Dave Sherman, raised an incredible $21,520. “Stacie has been the top individual fundraiser for many years,” said Brian. “I am in awe of the long-term commitment that Stacie, her friends, and family have for this event.”

Our 5K has always been more than just a race. As our largest fundraiser, the event is a celebration of our participants, families, and entire Eden community. While the in-person races were smaller this year as we continue to follow health and safety guidelines, many teams celebrated virtually by running with friends and family in their own neighborhoods. Whether you walked at the Eden School or a local park, we are extremely grateful for the continued support from our amazing community.

We’ll continue to fundraise through the end of the year to hit our goal of $200,000! Click here to donate to a team or share the link with friends and family.
